“Trick Pony<\/em> is a project that has been germinating in my head and heart for over a decade,” says Lockard. “It’s a love letter to all my favorite Western stories but through a distinctly modern lens. Jimmy’s adventure is about self-fulfillment on the path to making your dreams come true… and accepting that some shadows are going to follow you for life.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together Lockard and David tell the emotional story of Jimmy Thomas, a gay rodeo star well past his prime. Jimmy is about to hit rock bottom when he receives an emergency call from his family alerting him that his father is in the hospital. Jimmy decides to head home with his trusty best friend, his horse Emmylou. While on the road he must confront the mistakes of his past, the monsters of his present, and come to terms with his life and future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the Creators:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greg Lockard<\/strong> is a writer and editor of comic books and graphic novels. He is currently editing The Closet,<\/em> Blue Book<\/em>, and The Oddly Pedestrian Life of Christopher Chaos <\/em>for Tiny Onion Studiosand The<\/em> Bone Orchard Mythos, Little Monsters<\/em> and Fishflies<\/em> for Image Comics. Liebestrasse<\/em>, his first graphic novel as writer and co-creator with Tim Fish, is out now in print via Dark Horse and available digitally from Comixology Originals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anna David<\/strong> is an illustrator from Annapolis, Maryland who graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art in May of 2018 with a BFA in illustration. She is interested in science, especially nature and prehistory, and likes long walks in the woods with her dog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
